🌀 Six Incredible Women 🌀
Nov 01, 2024Hey friends,
Happy 1st of the month, gosh it rolls around fast, doesn't it!
This month I'm celebrating six women who've been on my radar the last few weeks for no reason other than each of them is super cool.
I can't call this 'six favourite women' because I have SO MANY favourite women but these ladies are up there in the top of the top list.
KIM KRANS - I've been obsessed with the Wild Unknown Tarot deck for years now, but last month bought Kim's Archtypes deck and it's so, so good. I'm currently working with the archtype of the Mirror as well as the Nectar card (because who doesn't want more Nectar in life?). If you're looking for a hit of inspo in your spiritual practice this could be it.
HEIDI SMITH - I came across Heidi's work recently and I am now reading her book about prayer which I love. It's like the grown up version (or the big sister) to my book 'Trust Life, Trust Yourself, Find Peace'. If you're interested in how different people experience the Divine and what a practice of prayer can look like this beautiful book is for you.
ABIGAIL ROSE CLARKE - who is a brilliant author and also a tarot person. This quote from her seems very apt for our current times
'A prayer. Please connect me with people who are able to hold nuance. Who understand life is full of paradox. Who weep at violence no matter the optics, who move slowly enough to let context inform their choices. The world is heartbreaking, but I’m grateful to everyone committed to love in action.’
SHAE SPRY - Shae is the Community and Spiritual Activism Co-ordinator in my online membership program Bhakti Club and in 2025 she will be co-creating the Bhakti Women Summit with me. Shae is a legend! Our theme for next year is (you guessed it) Spiritual Activism with a focus on heart-centred responses to a world in crisis. More on that coming soon, for the Summit promotions which we are working on now Shae came up with the idea of 70's pop-activism vibe. The gorgeous graphics at the top of this newsletter were created by her. We were inspired by two figures from the 70's in particular which brings me to ...
CHRISSY HYNDE - I grew up listening to The Pretenders. I love their music and I love Chrissy. She's been an animal rights activist her whole life and sometimes comes onto stage drinking herbal tea. It doesn't get more rock and roll than that...
and last but by no means least...
VIVIENNE WESTWOOD - I've been scouring Etsy for original Westwood pieces which remain sadly out of my budget but oh, how I love her. She was an icon and a true pionner and she made really cool punk-inspired (but still pretty) clothing that was art. She was also a great activist and campaigner for women's rights and sustainability. Rock on Vivienne!
As I mentioned above there are so many women in the world (and in my little world) that inspire me deeply every day. I remember this when I'm feeling sad and overwhelmed by the state of everything right now.
I'm off to Bali next week with a dear girlfriend and my daughter for a few days of relaxation and re-calibration. I'll be in touch on the other side.
With great love all is possible,
Katie Rose x
P.S. I also hope and pray we will see a woman in the White House in the coming days. If I had a vote in the USA it would be for Harris, although I don't support all her policies I do support her as our only hope right now.
